Having honed her instincts in the wild world of graphic design, Ali is always ready to leap into new challenges. She thrives in environments that allow her to learn, teach, and help others grow, so she’s the perfect addition to our pack. The ever-changing landscape of advertising keeps her on her toes, and she relishes every new opportunity that comes her way, both in and out of the office. Ali is a first-generation college student who graduated from Fresno State in 2023 with a BFA in Graphic Design. While there, she was the President of the Graphic Design Club, as exposure to the art form in her education turned it into her passion. In 2022 and 2023, Alicia’s work was featured in local galleries and poster packs for the Social Justice Poster Project. She also received multiple Gold and Silver ADDY Awards from AAF District 14 and AAF Fresno, including Best of Show Student both locally and regionally. During her final semester at Fresno State, Alicia was a Dean’s Medalist Nominee, received a Student Leadership Award, and was honored as a Dean’s List and President’s List recipient, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Through her own challenges and personal experiences, Alicia understands the financial barriers associated with the field of graphic design, which is why she has pursued design-focused initiatives that include student sponsorships and free workshops. She sponsors student submission fees for design competitions like the ADDYs, while supporting smaller-scale contests throughout the U.S. She has also been developing a program called Design & Shine: a series of free, equitable graphic design workshops aimed at lower socioeconomic communities.
